For the City Council to consider and make appointments to outside Committees and the Audit Committee. |
| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND
In addition to serving as elected representatives, the Mayor and City Council members also have an opportunity to serve on outside committees, boards, and commissions in representing the City's interests. The outside committees include regional agencies governed by elected officials appointed by their peers, and jurisdictional authority varies from library services to regional planning, sanitary sewers to State governance. |
| | | | | | | | DISCUSSION
Attached is the Committees and Outside Committees list for all appointment opportunities including meeting dates, time, compensation (if applicable), conflict of interest reporting responsibilities, and representation when appointments were last filled. Please note that some of the committees include an alternate as well as a representative.
The Audit Committee is an internal City Council committee. With the expansion of the City Council to seven members, this committee can now be expanded to three members if desired. The Orange County Vector Control District appointment is to be is to be made for a term of two or four years, at the discretion of the City Council

It is recommended that the City Council:
- Appoint members of the City Council to the various Committees, Boards and Commissions.
