| | | | | | | | OBJECTIVE
For City Council to accept the Acacia-Josephine Storm Drain Improvements, Project No. CP-1007000 as complete, and authorize the City Manager to execute the Notice of Completion of Public Improvement and Work. |
| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND
Under former conditions, flooding occurred on various streets and within various yards of homes fronting the streets between Dale Street and Josephine Street and between Garden Grove Boulevard and Stanford Avenue. Engineering staff analyzed the conditions and prepared plans and specifications for construction of a storm drain to address the flooding concerns. |
| | | | | | | | DISCUSSION
Staff advertised the project and opened bids on November 23, 2021. On December 14, 2021, City Council awarded the project to Vasilj Inc.
Vasilj Inc., has completed the storm drain improvements in accordance with the plans, specifications, and other contract documents. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no impact to the General Fund. This improvement was funded by the following:
- Community Development Block Grant (CDBG): $1.25M
- Gas Tax: $1.67M
- Drainage: $144,000

| | | | | | | | RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
- Accept Project CP-1007000, Acacia-Josephine Storm Drain Improvements as complete;
- Authorize the City Manager to execute the Notice of Completion of Public Works Improvement and Work; and
- Authorize the Finance Director to release the retention payment when appropriate to do so.
