Acceptance of Project No. 02-2022 – Main Street Electrical Project as complete. (Action Item)

OBJECTIVE

For City Council to accept Project No. 00-2022, Main Street Electrical Project, as complete and authorize City Manager to execute the Notice of Completion of Public Improvement and Work.

BACKGROUND

On July 12, 2022, a construction contract was awarded to Select Electric, Inc. for public improvements to install a power source for the new tree lights for the commercial area and electrical stations for Main Street special events. The project was located on Main Street between Garden Grove Boulevard and Acacia Parkway as well as, the Pecor Plaza.
DISCUSSION

The contractor, Select Electric, Inc., has completed the work in accordance with the plans, specifications, contract, and other related documents.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Funding was provided by the Small Business Relief Program Grant funds awarded to the Garden Grove Community Foundation, and general funds included in the Economic Development operational budget.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the City Council:

 

  • Accept the Main Street Electrical Project No. 00-2022 as complete;

 

  • Authorize the City to Manager to execute the Notice of Completion of Public Works Improvements and Work, and

 

  • Authorize the Finance Director to release the retention payment when appropriate to do so.
