| | | | | | | | OBJECTIVE
For the City Council to accept Project No. CP-109000, Euclid-Westminster Intersection Capacity Enhancement Project, Euclid Street at Westminster Avenue; OCTA Project No. 21-GGRV-ICE-3992 as complete, and authorize the City Manager to execute the Notice of Completion of Public Improvement and Work. |
| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND
This project included the construction of a 12 foot roadway widening for a proposed southbound right turn lane on Euclid Street at Westminster Ave, and a 12 foot roadway widening for a proposed eastbound right turn lane on Westminster Avenue at Euclid Street. The project generally consisted of construction surveying and staking for the proposed widening; demolishing, removing, relocating existing improvements and utilities affected by the proposed widening; construction of new concrete curb & gutter, driveway approaches and sidewalk; construction of asphalt-concrete pavement on southbound lanes of Euclid Street and eastbound lanes of Westminster Avenue; construction of asphalt concrete for pavement transition, landscape and hardscape, and concrete walkway; all new traffic signal installation on all four corners of the intersection; installation of trees and tree wells; installation of traffic striping, signing, pavement marking and markers. |
| | | | | | | | DISCUSSION
The contractor, RJ Noble Company, has completed the improvements in accordance with the plans, specifications, and other contract documents. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact to the General Fund. OCTA provided 65% funding on this project. Gas tax was used to provide 35% matching funds. The retention payments will be released after recordation of the Notice of Completion. |
| | | | | | | | RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council;
- Accept Project No. CP-1090000- Euclid-Westminster Intersection Capacity Enhancement as complete, OCTA Project No. 21-GGRV-ICE-3992;
- Authorize the City Manager to execute the Notice of Completion of Public Works Improvement and Work; and
- Authorize the Finance Director to release the retention payment when appropriate to do so.
