The City, under the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways, is required do regular maintenance on street signs that are faded and are no longer legible throughout the City.  

Due to the large amount of street signs that need to be purchased, a list of signs were posted on Planet Bids for vendors to bid on. The list was posted from August 10, 2021 thru September 10, 2021. In response to prescribed bidding procedures, three (3) bids were received and deemed responsive. The bid results are as follows:

Maneri Sign Company                                          $51,370.36

Main Street Signs                                                $62,667.13

Zumar Industries Inc.                                          $83,587.43

Staff has examined the bids received and determined that the lowest responsive bidder is Maneri Sign Company. Staff has researched the proposed vendor’s service history, finding no negative issues in customer service. 

Funding for the purchase of these various street signs is available in the 2021/2022 Streets Division sign budget.

It is recommended that the City Council:

• Authorize the Finance Director to issue a purchase order in the amount of $51,370.36 to Maneri Sign Company for the purchase of various street signs.
