Subject:Adoption of a Resolution amending the Salary Schedule. (Action Item)Date:7/13/2021

OBJECTIVE

To obtain City Council approval for the updated Salary Schedule for the City of Garden Grove. 
BACKGROUND

California Code of Regulations, Title 2, Section 570.5 requires governing bodies of local agencies contracting with CalPERS to approve and adopt a publicly available pay schedule in accordance with public meeting laws.
DISCUSSION

In order to comply with the statutory and regulatory requirements for publicly available pay schedules, Garden Grove City Council is required to amend the salary schedule to reflect the current pay rate for each job classification. This updated salary schedule is in accordance with the Memorandums of Understanding with Orange County Employee's Association and League, Garden Grove Police Association and Garden Grove Police Management Association; and Middle and Central Management Resolutions.  
FINANCIAL IMPACT

There is no financial impact. This action item is for the sole purpose of remaining in compliance with the standard statutory and regulatory requirements for publicly available pay schedules as outlined by CalPERS. 
RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the City Council:

 

  • Adopt the Resolution that amends the Salary Schedule of the City of Garden Grove.
