For City Council to accept Project Nos. 7211 and 7289 - Euclid Street, Garden Grove Boulevard, Woodbury Road, and Palmwood Drive Sidewalk Improvements as complete, and to authorize the City Manager to execute the Notice of Completion of Public Improvement and Work. |
| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND
On May 14, 2019, the City Council awarded a contract to All American Asphalt, in the amount of $3,787,500, for Street Rehabilitation Project Nos. 7211 and 7289 – Euclid Street from Chapman Avenue to Katella Avenue; Garden Grove Boulevard from Brookhurst Street to Nelson Street; Woodbury Road from 750 feet west of Harbor Boulevard to Harbor Boulevard; and Palmwood Drive Sidewalk Improvement from Vegas Way to Patricia Drive.
The project consisted of roadway rehabilitation by full depth reclamation and cement treatment, asphalt paving, cold milling, construction of new PCC sidewalk, curb & gutter, pattern-stamped concrete, driveway approaches and handicapped ramps, restoration of traffic striping, reestablishment of centerline ties and monuments, and other items required by the plans and specifications. |
| | | | | | | | DISCUSSION
The contractor, All American Asphalt, has completed the improvements in accordance with the plans, specifications, and other contract documents. |
| | | | | | | | FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact to the General Fund. These improvements are included in the Capital Improvement Budget and were funded by Measure “M2” Local Fairshare, Gas Tax, California State Tire Recycle Grant, and the City of Anaheim. |
| | | | | | | | RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
- Accept Project Nos. 7211 and 7289 - Euclid Street, Garden Grove Boulevard, Woodbury Road, and Palmwood Drive Sidewalk Improvement, as complete;
- Authorize the City Manager to execute the Notice Completion of Public Improvement and Work; and
- Authorize the Finance Director to release the retention payment when appropriate to do so.
