The sewer improvement project at Westminster Avenue and Lexington Avenue consisted of replacing approximately 670 linear feet of 12-inch Vitrified Clay Pipe (VCP) sewer with new 15-inch extra strength VCP in Westminster Avenue and replacing 282 linear feet of 8-inch VCP with new 8-inch extra strength VCP in Lexington Avenue. It also included the construction of seven (7) new manholes.  The project required removal and/or abandonment of existing sewer lines and manholes, traffic control, and other appurtenant work.

The contractor, Paulus Engineering, Inc., has completed this project in accordance with the plans, specifications and other contract documents.

The project was funded with Sewer Funds and was completed within budget and on schedule.  The retention payment will be released after recordation of the Notice of Completion with the County of Orange.

It is recommended that the Sanitary District Board:

• Accept Project No. 7835 - Sewer Improvement Project at Westminster Avenue and Lexington Avenue as complete, and authorize the General Manager to execute the Notice of Completion of Public Improvement and Work; and

•  Authorize the Finance Director to release the retention payment when appropriate to do so.
