| | | | | | | | OBJECTIVE
To request that the City Council adopt a Resolution authorizing the City of Garden Grove to participate in the Beach Boulevard Coalition (Coalition). |
| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND
About two years ago, a working group was formed and comprised of the cities of Buena Park, Anaheim, Stanton, Westminster, La Habra, and Huntington Beach. The working group discussed changes along the Beach Boulevard corridor and established goals to enhance the arterial. Among those goals were economic development, beautification, revitalization, promotion of healthy lifestyles, and public safety. Since then, the engagement of this working group has increased and the Beach Boulevard Coalition was formed. |
| | | | | | | | DISCUSSION
The Beach Boulevard Coalition represents cities along Beach Boulevard, stretching from the City of La Habra, to the City of Huntington Beach. The Coalition's goal is to revitalize and renew Beach Boulevard. Authorizing the City's participation in the Coalition will demonstrate the City's commitment to create and reinforce a new sustainable brand identity on Beach Boulevard and solidify the City's working relationship with the other cities in the Coalition.
Participation in the Coalition does not bind or obligate the City to contribute financially. Any future financial obligations would require City Council review and approval. |

Adopting this Resolution does not financially bind or obligate the City in any matter; therefore, there is no fiscal impact. |
| | | | | | | | RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
- Adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the City's participation in the Beach Boulevard Coalition.
