Underground Utility District No. 26 will underground approximately 42 Southern California Edison (SCE) poles and overhead service lines along with other utility lines on both sides of Magnolia Street from Garden Grove Boulevard to Orangewood Avenue. The public necessity, health, safety and welfare require removal and undergrounding of the utilities in order to ensure the protection of the public from the above-ground facilities. |

There is no financial impact to the General Fund for the recommended action. SCE has estimated the undergrounding cost to be $5,800,000. Project funds will be provided by SCE Rule 20A allocation. |
| | | | | | | | RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
- Conduct a Public Hearing and receive testimony; and
