The purpose of this report is for the City Council to consider and approve the attached progress report related to the 2015-16 Grand Jury Report, Light Rail: Is Orange County on the Right Track?, and authorize submittal to the 2016-17 Orange County Grand Jury. |
| | | | | | | | BACKGROUND
On January 18, 2017, the 2016-17 Orange County Grand Jury requested that the City provide an update regarding progress made on the recommendation in the 2015-2016 Grand Jury Report issued May 9, 2016, entitled, Light Rail: Is Orange County on the Right Track? Specifically, the City was asked to provide an update to recommendation R-6 (see Attachment 2). |
| | | | | | | | DISCUSSION
Recommendation R-6 stated that the City should create links on its website that show efforts to complete the OC Streetcar project, and then update the website every three months. The attached progress report provides an update regarding the City’s compliance with the recommendation (see Attachment 1).
Links have been created on the City’s website in several locations that show the City’s efforts in coordination with OCTA and the City of Santa Ana to complete the OC Streetcar project. Additionally, the City will continue to work collaboratively with OCTA to ensure consistent information and updates are provided on the City’s website on an ongoing basis to maximize public awareness. |

It is recommended that the City Council:
- Approve the attached progress report and authorize submittal to the Orange County Grand Jury.
