To receive City Council approval to carryover federal asset forfeiture funds appropriated in Fiscal Year (FY) 2017-18 to FY 2018-19. |
| | | | | | | | DISCUSSION
On June 12, 2018, the Police Department received City Council approval to appropriate $22,000 in existing federal asset forfeiture funds (Fund 112) in FY 2017-18 to purchase equipment for the Police Department SWAT team. Purchase orders for the equipment were issued on June 21, 2018 and orders were placed with the vendors right away, however the items were not received by the Police Department until after July 1, 2018. Therefore, the funds need to be carried over to FY 2018-19 for payment. |

Funds in the amount of $22,000 are available in the Federal Asset Forfeiture Fund. There is no impact to the General Fund. |

It is recommended that the City Council:
- Approve the carryover amount of $22,000 in existing federal asset forfeiture funds (Fund 112) appropriated in Fiscal Year 2017-18 to Fiscal Year 2018-19 for the purchase of Police Department equipment.
